Growth Tech Treasurers Execution Sprint | How to Accelerate Treasury's Strategic Role

# Growth-Tech Treasurers

In most growing tech companies, the treasury team is a lagging indicator of corporate maturity. Starting with zero staff, eventually someone is put in charge of treasury and they scramble to catch up with sales growth and increased corporate sophistication (#of entities, new currencies, new sources of capital, cash forecasting etc.). Eventually a treasurer is appointed, experienced staff hired, dedicated tools purchased or developed internally, and a real treasury team is created … and startups become giant multinationals.

The environment appears to be changing for many companies, who are requiring more accuracy and sophistication from treasury earlier in the company’s maturity cycle. This seems to be the result of geopolitical volatility, the changes brought on by the AI boom, and increased investor scrutiny. Treasury teams are being pushed beyond traditional cash management into broader strategic leadership roles. Across peer discussions, one theme has consistently emerged as the most urgent and cross-functional challenge: building resilient forecasting and liquidity frameworks that support growth while managing risk.

This session will explore how treasury leaders are responding to increasing pressure around cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, international liquidity, and capital allocation. Participants will discuss how treasury is partnering more closely with FP&A, supply chain, accounting, and executive leadership to improve visibility, support scaling operations, and strengthen decision-making in volatile markets. The conversation will also examine how companies are leveraging automation, AI-enabled forecasting tools, and organizational redesign to modernize treasury capabilities without proportionally increasing headcount.

Topics may include:

  1. Improving forecast accuracy amid rapid growth and market uncertainty
  2. Managing liquidity while balancing debt, CapEx, and expansion priorities
  3. Treasury’s evolving role in enterprise-wide strategic planning
  4. Scaling treasury operations globally and managing FX exposure
  5. Evaluating AI and technology solutions for forecasting and treasury infrastructure
  6. Aligning treasury priorities with CEOs, boards, and cross-functional stakeholders

Speakers:

  1. Michael Scott, Toast
