Bloomberg Terminals: How Much More You’ll Pay Next Year
Treasury and finance teams and anyone else who considers the Bloomberg Terminal a must-have tool will pay 6.5% more for two-year subscriptions that begin or renew on or after Jan. 1, 2025. In a letter to customers, the company said, “Consistent with Bloomberg’s historical practice, our price increase is linked to weighted global inflation over the prior two-year period.”
  • The monthly charge for Bloomberg clients with more than one Terminal will rise next year to $2,360. That amounts to $28,320 a year, compared to $26,580 now, following a 9.6% jump in 2023. The annual cost for users with one Terminal will rise to $31,980.
  • The 6.5% increase for 2025 also applies to Bloomberg data licenses and real-time data service offerings. The latter include the Bloomberg Market Data Feed, known as B-PIPE.
Feeling lucky? Asked to comment on the increase, one Bloomberg user wrote in an email, “6.5% is annoying, but not crazy given where interest rates and inflation are. They’re the only game in town really, so we’re lucky they don’t raise by more!”
  • In a discussion of projects and priorities at a recent meeting, one NeuGroup member said their company had switched some employees from Bloomberg to another financial data provider. They said team members were not happy with the change, but that the alternative to Bloomberg was cheaper.
  • A member at a different company said, “We are evaluating other options, but it’s likely we remain with Bloomberg for the foreseeable future.”
